Environmental Concerns
All veneers and hardwoods are purchased through sustainable forests;
Upon request Tella will use veneers that have been harvested from forests that meet stringent environmental, social, and economic standards that have been certified in accordance with the rules of “Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)”
Ninety-eight percent of the core is made from recyclable materials. When sealed, MDF (medium density fiberboard) produces virtually no emissions;
Contact adhesives are water based, non-ozone depleting. Stains and lacquers are low or VOC free. There is minimal over-spray sent for waste collection;
Tella continues to research the latest technologies available to further reduce the emission of VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) during the finishing process;
All automated production operations utilize the most energy efficient machinery and state of the art technology to conserve energy and reduce waste;
More than ninety-nine percent of Tella products ship blanket wrap to reduce waste (cardboard, shrink wrap, pallets, etc.);
Our independent truck fleet uses fuel management control systems. The drivers often return with raw materials after offloading products to reduce the number of transportation trips.
